At the “Forum” that takes place before every Wednesday night run, most people tune out Todd and have their own conversation. However, one important topic that was mentioned was the need for AREC volunteers, especially regarding marathon training.
Volunteers can come in many forms, shapes and sizes, but our current need is mostly with the marathon training (if you have special technical ability – more than HTML web-wise, or organizational skills, please talk to Todd, Dave or Emmett). Most of these do not necessarily involve any running…
You could help Deb Cardinale staff a water station (especially when the runs get longer); you could help Todd out with the set-up and clean-up of the table, flyers, and “food” before and after the run; or you could even be a pacer during the runs, whether you run at the front (and show how people will never catch up) or trail at the back (to make sure all the stragglers make it all the way).
Any help we can get is greatly appreciated. Mark Fell, Deb Cardinale, Todd and the rest of the board work hard to make the club the group that we all enjoy and continue to run with. Why not give back and be a part of a great organization! Thanks.
