Emmett Rahl Column - March 2001

Welcome to March! There's been a little shake-up in the hierarchy of AREC. A couple of weeks ago, our Vice-President, Marlaigne Hudnall, announced that she needed to give up the responsibility. All the members present agreed to pass the reins to Ian Varley, who had been the other candidate on the original ballot. Two weeks later, he announced he was off for a year-long job in Germany, so Todd Byers has agreed to take over. Here's to Todd avoiding the VP curse!

I'll also just throw in another reminder about dues. Again, there is no requirement to pay dues, but it does help defray our costs (like newsletters) and insures you during all AREC events. Dues are $25/year.

Finally, put April 22nd on your calendar. This is the date of the Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon. We have a lot of time to plan the teams, but I have heard from several people that they may be doing other things that weekend and didn't know if we were running. Talk to Todd Rose or myself after the run any Wednesday this month.
