Jimmy Stewart. Just a few last-minute items on Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon. Teams are filled and hopefully, your team captain should have contacted you about race day. If you haven’t heard anything, contact Todd Rose, who has the master list.
Potluck Pasta Party (April 12, 2003). We thought it might be nice to get together before Jimmy Stewart for a little carbo-loading, if you don’t mind spending most of the weekend with your AREC friends! I will be hosting the pre-JSRM party at my condo (552 Bellflower Blvd. #105 in Long Beach). I am near the corner of Bellflower and Pacific Coast Highway. Park on the Street and look for the 552 Entrance. Select “Rahl” on the phone box and I will buzz you in. Come as early as 6pm and stay until whenever. I have plenty of pasta, so BYOB and let’s say A-L (Dessert) and M-Z (Salad).
T-Shirts. Tanks and T-shirts are here! If you have joined AREC, there is a shirt or tank waiting for you. Non-members can buy a shirt for $10 (but membership is just $25). It would be cool if everyone wore their shirt at Jimmy Stewart.
Safety. Daylight Saving is almost upon us, but please do not skimp on your safety. Don’t play dodge ‘em with cars and continue to wear reflective clothing. Please try to avoid wearing headphones – besides, there are plenty of people who will run AND sing with you!
Pass the Word. Please feel free to invite friends to run and walk with us. As the weather gets warmer, the cool evening is a great time to run and then to hang out afterwards. Also, with hashing moving to Thursday nights, there is a void in your regular running schedule. Let’s build up this group to the size of the Wednesday group!
