In December, I will be trying a “Texas Double,” consisting of a 50- mile trail race on December 8th, and the Dallas White Rock Marathon on December 9th. In conjunction with this upcoming event, I am trying to figure out how to train for it, without killing myself. While many of you are at the first Marathon training run on May 19th, I will be running the Palos Verdes Marathon. My plan for May 20th (to simulate running long after, well, running long) is to run 26-odd miles in Long Beach. The run starts and ends at my condo complex (Bellflower near PCH) and runs through CSULB, El Dorado Park, Signal Hill and Colorado Lagoon.
