Marathon Training. Marathon training begins on May 19, 2007, at 7:00am at Joe’s Crab Shack parking lot (Marina Drive, near 2nd Street). The new training schedule should be available on the AREC website in the next few weeks.
AREC Relay a Success! 29 runners participated in the AREC Relay last month (see Article, Pictures and Results later in the newsletter). We are looking to repeat a similar event perhaps later in the year.
Racing Singlets. The RaceReady racing singlets are now available for purchase – only $18. See Todd Rose to buy one.
Membership. If you haven’t joined, it’s not too late! $25/year gives you a monthly newsletter, team garb (2007 is the year of the hat), fun events, marathon training, and club insurance. An additional person from the same household can be added for just $15 more.
Farewell to Joseph Sullivan. Many of you may know Joe Sullivan from the Marathon Training Group last year. Joe received his long-awaited transfer back to the East Coast and will be leaving Long Beach forever on May 11th. Nice knowing you.
