LB Marathon / Half Marathon Training begins soon!Once trail running wraps up and we have a couple of weeks off, A.R.E.C. training for the Long Beach Marathon and Half Marathon will start up on Saturday May 17, 2007 at 7:00am from the Joe’s Crab Shack parking lot and every Saturday thereafter until race day. We will begin with 3.5 and 5 mile runs, then progress to longer runs every week. Be sure to have good weekly base mileage (at least 15-20 miles) built up prior to starting the full marathon training. The current schedules and links to the course maps are now available on our website. We will also attempt to incorporate as many seminars as possible for a greater learning experience such as: Thom Lacie from Runner’s High, Brooke Donberg from Clif Bar, and our own Stacy Embretson from ICR (L.B. Marathon). This training is included in the price of annual membership. Other clubs/groups charge up to $200 for this service alone, or don’t offer it at all, so it’s a helluva deal!
