Long Beach Marathon and Half was a great success for AREC - 11 AREC members completed the distances, and Tim Hickok and Victor Hernandez ran 21 miles (for fun?). The most exciting result was that Karin Schick ran a 7-minute personal record, placing 24th overall, and 3rd in her age group. We also had a successful pasta party. Hosted by yours truly (at my condo clubhouse), 24 people from Team Runners High, AREC, and 3 elite runners that Laura and Sam were hosting enjoyed an evening of pasta, lasagna, salad, sodas, and pie (lots of pie!).
