It was really great getting together for the potluck the night before the race. We even got to meet a few Sunday AREC runners! This is a really great group - the way we support each other, help out new runners, and tolerate each other in Limerick's after sweating for 5-7 miles!
Some people have expressed an interest in further AREC activities, especially since Barb Hager didn't win any Ice Dog tickets! Emmett or I are willing to help plan these events, but are not willing to spend a lot of time forcing people's interest.
One upcoming event (and we would have to plan this quickly) would either be a Christmas party (potluck) or Secret Santa Run and Gift Exchange (that way, no one would have to host).
Another possibility is attending some Ice Dogs games. Target offers Treatseats discounts, which a re good for 2-for-1 admission (i.e. $5 tickets) to assorted games (most of which are on Wednesday evenings). Here are the possible dates: Jan 14, Feb 11, 14, 25, March 10, 31, April 7. Contact myself or Emmett at the Wednesday run and we'll do it.
Finally, remember that it is really dark out now. Wear something reflective, watch out for cars, and run safely!
