My running experience with AREC has been…great people, good natured…and they challenge me to do more and I like that.
I experienced AREC…in October 1991.
I run with AREC…because I like everybody here.
When I'm not running, I…work! (with a laugh) and I like to go on vacation.
My goal is…to continue to enjoy it.
I'm inspired by…the Olympics!
My running hero is…Sam Brooks. He's actually the walking hero. He's really the one who pushed me to walk fast and hard.
The best advice I ever got was…I'm horrible at that…I never listen to anybody.
Running has helped me…clear up my lungs from smoking for 30 years. It's helped me to feel good, feel healthy, and it's helped my self-image.
I love…all the things that Bernard loves: sex, women and beer. I love the outdoors.
I hate…bigots.
My biggest pet peeve…people who don't turn their work into me on time.
Racing experience…I've only done a couple of 10Ks so I think that's more my distance because I'm still working but it doesn't hurt when I go home! I've had a lot of great experiences in competitive running, even though I'm not competitive. I think the Bare Buns Fun run is a terrific experience. I think everyone should do it at least once! How it started was someone said, "Do you wanna go to the Bare Buns Fun Run?" I said, "Huh?" and thought how can I say no? I might not get this opportunity again! (ed. note: yes, you do run exposing it all!!!) I've won several awards in both the half marathon and in walking. Last week I pulled 2nd place overall and 1st woman in my division!
I hope…that I can continue enjoying this life, yeah…
