(ed. Note: Tam broke her best time by 44 mins.)
I knew I could break 6 hours but secretly I reallywanted to break 5:30...so next time, that'll be the goal!!! :)
I knew it was going to be hard to break 5:30 when we were at the halfway point and were off...but running the race and training is so different and hard to compare, I realize. But it's okay, I am very happy with my time! Also, it was really hard to run faster in the beginning...so many people!
The first several miles went by sooo fast! Margaret and I were amazed! I felt sluggish and tired around Mile 15, but then by Mile 18 I got revved up again and felt very good. I felt good the rest of the way and by Mile 23, I just wanted to run faster so that I could hurry up and finish!!!
So yes, I am so glad that I finished and happy with my time! It's just amazes me how different it is than when you train and how you just never know. I had fun at the Expo, too, and everything was so well organized! Oh yeah, my stomach felt funny the whole time... I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary, but it's funny, because I had Gu on me but didnot want it at all. I did a little of my Clif Bar and had my sports drink.
