Welcome to A Running Experience Club (AREC)! Officially a 501(c)3 not-for-profit Long Beach, California running club since 1982, AREC provides a safe and fun environment for athletes of all ages and abilities, from beginners just wanting to get into the game and learn... to veteran runners looking to improve and find training partners. We can deliver experienced leadership, sound advice, motivation and mental preparation to get you started and keep you moving in the right direction. We make a healthy lifestyle fun... because if you're not having fun... why bother?

AREC offers 2 well-attended opportunities per week to get in a workout.

Wednesday - a year-round evening fun run/walk available to all ages and abilities. And very social! For more details on Wednesday runs, you can click the index link at the top of the page.

Saturday - year-round morning training runs geared to build strength and endurance. Half and full marathon training from mid-May through mid-October, and trail runs from November through April. For more details on Full/Half Marathon or Trail Runs, you can click the index link at the top of the page
